Powell Studio Architecture: Building Futures

Powell Studio Architecture: Hometown Growth

Clermont is not just a place; it's our home, where we both live and work with pride.

At Powell Studio Architecture, our dedication to Clermont is deeply personal. Jeff Powell, the founder of Powell Studio Architecture, grew up in this community and has personally witnessed its evolution over the past four decades. Understanding growth is unavoidable, it's essential to approach it in a way that instills pride in our hometown.

Victory Pointe: Triathletes, Views, and Waterfront Sustainability

Victory Pointe represents a groundbreaking initiative to preserve the splendor of our picturesque lakes and simultaneously serve as a water retention system for our downtown district. Executed by Community Solutions Group | GAI, the project features a tiered marsh that naturally filters downtown stormwater before it reaches the shores of Lake Minneola. With meticulous attention to design and development, Powell Studio Architecture took on the responsibility of creating the structures at Victory Pointe. The impressive 40-foot observation tower stands as a testament to this effort, providing breathtaking panoramic views of our lakes and downtown. Accompanying this landmark is a well-appointed restroom and staging facility, serving as a premier location for triathlons. Victory Pointe not only offers Clermont residents enchanting pathways but also presents captivating views of our lakes and downtown, fostering a connection between the community and its stunning surroundings.

Waterfront Pavilion: Taking Center Stage

Nestled along the shores of Lake Minneola, adjacent to the Splash Pad, the Waterfront Pavilion stands as a distinctive venue, ideal for hosting concerts, performances, parties, and community gatherings such as "Pig on the Pond." This 10,000-square-foot facility encompasses a domed pavilion and a community building, providing an exquisite backdrop of Lake Minneola for a wide range of events.

Clermont Rowing Boathouse: Setting Sail

In partnership with the Lake County Rowing Association, the Clermont Rowing Boathouse has introduced the dynamic sport of rowing to the scenic waters of Lake Minneola. Clermont, renowned for its picturesque lakes and favorable year-round weather, has become a sought-after destination for both local and international athletes who come to train at this state-of-the-art facility. The boathouse serves as a community hub, providing residents with opportunities to engage in group rowing activities or pursue individual training. Recognized as a premier venue, the Clermont Rowing Boathouse on Lake Minneola attracts attention for the ability to host regattas and attracting athletes year-round.

Kehlor Building: Serving Our Community For Over 100 Years

With a century-long legacy as a downtown Clermont landmark, the historic Kehlor Building served as a recreation center for numerous senior clubs and group activities. Recognizing the need for improved services and facilities due to the building's age, the City proactively addressed this issue. Under a continuing service contract, Powell Studio Architecture seized the opportunity to design the new facility. The modernized Kehlor Recreation Center, now a 2,200 SF multi-function community hub situated in the heart of downtown Clermont, stands ready to meet the evolving needs of the community for years to come. Boasting a spacious multi-function meeting room, public restrooms, staff offices, and a serving area, the facility was designed with thoughtful consideration. Tasked with a fixed budget, Powell Studio Architecture collaborated closely with the City and stakeholders to ensure the project not only met but exceeded expectations while remaining fiscally responsible. The new Kehlor Recreation Center stands as a testament to thoughtful design and efficient execution, providing an upgraded space for community engagement and activities.

Powell Studio Architecture: A Legacy in Community Building

At Powell Studio Architecture, we firmly believe that a thriving community serves as the cornerstone of success. Jeff Powell actively contributes to community enhancement by serving on the Board of Directors for the South Lake Chamber of Commerce, Clermont Mainstreet Board, Lake Sumter State College Foundation Board, as a member of the Elks, Past Master of the Clermont Masonic Lodge, and as a Committee Member of the Clermont Coastal Conservation Association. These engagements underscore his ongoing commitment to the local community. Since 2017, Powell Studio Architecture has consistently earned the prestigious Best of South Lake Award, a genuine honor reflecting the dedication of our team and their commitment to quality development. Despite our modest size, we are proud to be acknowledged in the Orlando Business Journal's Book of Lists as one of the Top 25 Firms in Central Florida.
